~~~AUTHOR INTERVEW~~~
Geri:   How many books have you written?
Jon:      Six
Geri:        Do you plan on writing a book every year?
Jon:           Yes
Geri:          In your opinion, what is the best genre to make the movie screen?
Jon:            Comic book, or 3D
Geri:           Do you think blogging about your books helps promotions, and do you enjoy it?
Jon:             Yes. I have almost two-thousand friends on facebook. I find that I do better if I ask
                     for input.
Geri:            What type of books do you enjoy reading?
Jon:              I like thrillers, especially funny ones.
Geri:             What inspires you the most to write?
Jon:              I am a lawyer, and I write about staying sane in an insane system.
Geri:             Thank you very much for your time. I wish you much success.
Jon:               You're welcome.
**INTERVIEW with Author ZIANNA DE BETHUNE**
It is a pleasure and an honor to Interview author Ziana De Bethune.
Author of:    "VALANTINUS: Blood Brothers"
Genre:             Science Fiction/Fantasy/Vampire
http://www.zianabethune.com/
~~~AUTHOR INTERVIEW~~~

Geri:    What inspires you the most to write?

Ziana:       I don't know if I'm inspired as much as I am driven. It's more of a need to put on paper, the
                scenes that unfold inside my head. I try to capture the essence of the world in which my characters
                live, the whole experience. It seems at times that I live in a world, where there is this huge, endless
               vault that's filled with characters that need to have their stories told. So, I pluck a few out, and let
                them take over from there. I know that sounds insane, but that's how it feels to me. So, I guess the
                shorter answer would be, my characters inspire me to write.

Geri:         Did you have favorite books as a child?

Ziana:         Actually, no. I started making up my own stories as a child, and that's what I spent my time
                  doing. Either that, or painting portraits and landscapes, which in retrospect, were pretty
                  awful. lol.

Geri:          Do you have current work in progress?

Ziana:        I'm always working on two, or three projects at one time. I was working on IT'S A QUIET
                 THING, with scriptwriter Anthony Bodden, off-and-on, the whole time that I was working
                 on VALANTINUS. "IT'S A QUIET THING" is a true crime story that is, believe it or not,
                 an inspirational story. I also began working on a motivational book with LIFE STRATEGIST,
                 OCTAVE ELLIS, but I found that one extra project too much, so I had to temporarily put
                 that one on hold for a while bit to finish IT'S A QUIET THING and then get back to work
                 with OCTAVE. I figure that by the time I finish IT'S A QUIET THING and am halfway
                 through the other motivational one, I'll probably also start working on MAYA, the prequel to
                "VALANTINUS." What I do is work for a few days on one, then switch over to let the plot
                 and characters simmer on the back burner, and work on a different one in the meantime. It's
                 nuts, but it works for me.

Geri:          Who is your favorite author?

Zianna:        I don't really have a favorite. I like reading everything, including romance, mysteries and
                   crime dramas. I also enjoy biographies like Casanova's life story, European Nobility,
                  historical and academic material, even about Quantum Physics. It's tough to pick
                  favorites, when there are so many amazing writers out there.

Geri:           If you were to write in a different genre, what would it be?

Zianna:        I do write in a few different genres. I've written romances, both contemporary, and
                   historical. I've written comedy, vampire, crime drama, and I'm even trying my hand at
                   scriptwriting. I love it all!

Geri:            Thank you kindly for your time. Welcome aboard, it's delightful to work with you,and you
                   are indeed among many talented authors. I wish you much success!

Zianna:         You're welcome.

~~~AUTHOR INTERVIEW #2~~~
Geri:           As a reader, what is your favorite genre?
Gayle:         Fiction with a message, meaning like Jodi Picoult. One of my favorites.
Geri:           What inspires you the most to write?
Gayle:         Watching 'real life.'  Noticing situations, my responses, and hearing and seeing the
                     message and story in those situations. I get really excited when I notice it for the first
                     time. Hiking also seems to inspire me. Sometimes I can write an entire story in my
                     head, while walking down the mountain. I've had a lot of inspiration pop up in yoga
                     classes when I can relate the yoga lesson to my life, lots of aha moments there. Also,
                     watching my son in music theraphy, from the observation room.
Geri:            Do you have any current work in progress?
Gayle:         Not now. BREATHE has just come out, and I am taking time to 'breathe.'
Geri:            What factors place you in the comfort zone while writing?
Gayle:           Allowing myself to let the ideas flow, without concern for how they come out at first.
                      Giving myself permission to say anything, or write 'junk.' Having my physical space
                      around the computer neat and organized, clutter-free.
Geri:               Is writing a passion, a stress-reliever, or both?
Gayle:             Writing, for me, is a passion. Occasionally, a stress reliever. It's such a beautiful
                         way to make a lasting difference in the world, and a magic way for being in the
                         present moment, where time seems to stand still and 'busy' mind stops.
Geri:                Thank you very much for today's interview. I wish very much success in your
                         writing journey.
Gayle:              You're welcome.
~~~AUTHOR INTERVIEW~~~

Geri:         What inspires you the most to write?

Jim:           I have written books mostly to produce passive income. Also, the research for my
                  books gives me facts and data to use in my speaking engagements. I have been,
                  first and foremost, a professional speaker.

Geri:          Did you have favorite books as a child?

Jim:           Not really. I wasn't encouraged to read. However, as a parent of two sons, when they
                  were little boys, I made it a point to read to them every night that I was home. Our
                  favorites were THE LITTLE ENGINE WHO COULD and GOODNIGHT MOON.
                  One book that did influence me as a child was J. D. Salinger's CATCHER IN THE
                  RYE.

Geri:            When did you first realize that you wanted to be a writer?

Jim:              There was no particular moment. It evolved. I did realize in college, particularly
                     in graduate school, that I was better at writing term papers than taking tests. I'm
                     not sure that I am a writer, although I've written five books, four of which are
                     published. I consider myself to be an author. I do research for self-improvement
                     subjects that I then put into book form to help people who want to improve their
                     lives. I also use the facts and data that I research for my speaking engagements,
                     as stated before.

Geri:              Who is your favorite author?

Jim:                Probably Wayne Dyer would rank at the top. He inspired me to write in the self-help
                       genre. I also like Robert Fulghum. I don't enjoy fiction. I mostly like history, or
                       biography. For instance, I'm currently reading CLAPTON, the autobiography of
                       Eric Clapton. I recently finished THE SNOWBALL EFFECT, a biography of Warren
                       Buffett, and UNDAUNTED COURAGE, a historical perspective of the Lewis and
                       Clark expedition. I read a variety of books, newspapers, and magazines.

Geri:             Do you have any current work in progress?

Jim:               Not really. I have written a book on the shelf, so to speak.

Geri:               Thank you kindly for your time. I wish you much success with your business, and
                        writing.

Jim:                 You're welcome.

~~~AUTHOR INTERVIEW~~~
Geri:      Who is your favorite author?
Nikolaus:      It really depends on what age you are, and the complexities of plots. My favorite author
                     of all times is JRR Tolkien.
Geri:               Did you have favorite books as a child?
Nikolaus:        Since I was quite young, I loved reading books. I loved anything that was a mystery, scary,
                      creppy, anything that would cause catastrophe and action. I loved novels, where you could
                      become part of the character. Yes! There were a few, and one that I can read again-and-
                      again is LORD OF THE RINGS Triology.  Another set of books that I enjoyed were most
                      of the Dennis Wheatley novels.
Geri:                When did you first realize that you wanted to be a writer?
Nikolaus:          In my early twenties. I moved to Irvine over twenty years ago, and I had a go at writing
                        hard work, and I enjoyed doing it. I gave it to my friend at a time when we realized that
                        it was so time consuming. I did not have the resources to quickly find information. I did
                        not have the experience in life to accomplish such a feat to complete my ambition. It was
                       Christmas of 2004, when I began to think seriously. Then, five years later, I was amazed
                       that I had written enough material for two others I had finished. So, this was something I
                       wanted to do from an early age, create my own fantasy.
Geri:                 Do you have any current work in progress?
Nikolaus:          Yes! There are two more volumes just about finished, which require editing, and another
                         still in my mind. Volume two is SCRIPTURES OF THE UNHOLY PROPHECIES-
                         THE SECOND DEGREE.  I have a third Volume, where I wanted something to mark
                          our existence, and have something to say. Something to mark, that we were here. I wanted
                         to create an original story that brought this part of the country to the attention of the world.
                         My homeland alone is inspirational enough. The history of the Covenanters and their sad
                         stories also inspired my writings, and often forgotten about in modern teaching of history.
                         I wanted my family to be proud of my achievement. As I've mentioned before, I have a
                         third Volume of GOD'S CHAIN: "Stones Of Symmetry and the Third Degree."
                         Armageddon is approaching 2012, and mankind will be judged. Good against evil, Light
                         Against darkness. This is when the book will be on sale, then get a copy before it's
                         too late.
Geri:                  What inspires you to write?
Nikolaus:            My homeland, history of the Covenanters and jogging in the early morning in Eglington
                          Park, or down the beach was all inspirational. If I had a particular problem and there
                          were many, it is a complex plot, so running along the beach helped, or looking out to the
                          Holy isle across to Arran. Listening to music also inspires me to write. With all the badness
                          and struggles throughout the world, the hatred and divisions publicised each day in the
                          news, I wanted to tell a story that might help bring people closer together, bring religions
                          closer. Break down all those barriers of race and skin, in some way, make things better.
                          If it was in my power, I wanted to be able to help people, a drive to raise money in my
                          way for medical research, ten percent of royalties to charity. My greatest inspiration of
                          all was my father, Michael.
Geri:                  What were your goals in the journey of writing?
Nikolaus:           I wanted to do something special, and exciting. I wanted my novel to be a mystery,
                         with a spiritual meaning. It needed to be a story that make people think, and allow the
                         reader to work out for themselves bit-by-bit the pieces, and at the same time allow the
                         reader to go with the flow of the story. I wanted to begin with something that happened
                         in history. I wanted my novel to have an underlying meaning, not just fiction, but give
                         something more to the reader.
Geri:                 As a reader, what is your favorite genre?
Nikolaus:          Fiction. Mystery is top, but it must contain action, adventure, and horror.
Geri:                Are there special people who you give thanks to through your writing journey?
Nikolaus:          A special thanks goes to Jemma Ritchie for her reading of the prologue, and her
                        excellent drama experience. I thank Andrew Brewster of Players Design INC,
                        who provided me with my design of the Unity Symbol, which you will start more-
                        and-more of it in correspondence. I thank Paul Cowan, and his team, from the
                        Libraries at North Ayrshire Council. A pecial thanks goes out to all the media
                        presence and exposure, including the Irvine Times, who first locally publicised my work.
                        Also, I thank WHSmith for volunteering, and running a campaign in Ayr for Genesis.
                        A double celebration, a special thank you to Amelia and John Ritchie. My goodness!
                        Imagine coming to celebrate a book launch for your Silver Wedding Anniversary. Yes!
                        25 years married, join me with a big hand for them! Most of all, a big thank you to all
                        my close friends, my family. Thanks to my father, Sarah, and my wife Aileen. Thank you
                        to my kids Christopher, Suzanne and Scott, for being here with me this evening.
Geri:                Thank you very much for your time. I wish you much success in your writing journey.
Nikolaus:          You're Welcome.
~~~AUTHOR INTERVIEW~~~

Geri:       When did you first realize that you wanted to be a writer?

John:       When I was really young, I loved to get my mother's Olivetti portable typewriter out, and bang
               away. Why? I really don't know. Had my parents been a bit more switched on, maybe they
               could have linked this with the fact that I read copious amounts of books, and come up with the
               possibility that maybe they should steer me in the direction of writing. Unfortunately, they never
               did. When I did my MBA, about ten years ago, I found the research, and the writing of essays
               stimulating and invorating. It was this method of research that I used to write my first book. I
               find that there's nothing more cathartic than writing on a train.

Geri:        Did you have favorite books as a child?

John:       Yes! THE FAMOUS FIVE, THE SECRET SEVEN, and THE HARDY BOYS, plus just about
               anything I could get my hands on.

Geri:           Do you have any current work in progress?

John:          Yes, the sequel to LEGEND OF THE LAST VIKINGS-Taklamakan. Not sure when I will
                  finish it as I'm republishing old, forgotten and out of print fairy tales, folklore myths and legends,
                  and donating thirty-three percent to charity.

Geri:          What inspires you the most to write?

John:          Discovery lost and ancient worlds, and realizing it's all been done before.

Geri:              Who is your favorite author?

John:              A few, Dudley Pope, Nigel Tranter, Bernard Cornwell. Also, Craig Thomas and above all,
                      the master of adventure, Clive Cussler.

Geri:             Thank you kindly for today's interview. I wish you much success.

John:            You're welcome.

~~~AUTHOR INTERVIEW~~~
Geri:     What inspires you the most to write?
Jacob:   Since most of my writing is dialogue, I have to be in a goofy mood to write,
                 because if I'm not, the voices of my characters come off wooden and
                 unbelievable.
Geri:        Who is your favorite author?
Jacob:     Tied between Elmore Leonard and Don Winslow. To compare anyone with
                   Dutch is almost blasphemy. But Winslow's, THE POWER OF THE DOG is
                   perhaps the best novel Ive ever read, followed by Christopher Moore,
                   Neil Gaiman and Stephen King. Wait, you wanted one?
Geri:          As a reader, what is your favorite genre?
Jacob:      Most anything if the characters are good, but lately, I've been on a
                   Preston/Child kick, so thriller-esq?
Geri:             As a child, did you have favorite books?
Jacob:          The first favorite I can remember is "WACKY WEDNESDAY."
Geri:              Do you have any current work in progress?
Jacob:          I'm working on a teen buddy comedy, that for some reason, reminds
                       me of Superbad, if Superbad involved a dead body and Russian
                       mobsters.
Geri:             Thank you kindly for your time. I can predict that I will indeed enjoy
                       reading your novel, because I already picked up your sense of humor.
                      This book will be different from what I usually read, but will be quite
                       refreshing.
Jacob:           You're welcome.
