***AUTHOR INTERVIEW***

What inspires you to write?

Amazing authors have always inspired me to write. My earliest inspirations were Judy Blume, and Patricia Hermes. When I was in grade school, I used to write stories, and then construct books out of cardboard. After designing the cover, and adding a handmade library stamp card to the back, I would allow my classmates to check the books out for three days only. 'The Haunted Playground' was a class favorite.

Describe your perfect writing atmosphere.
My ideal writing atmosphere is the middle of a brutal Minnesota winter, total silence, and a candle.

Did you enjoy reading as a child?

I loved reading as a child, and have many memories of hanging out at the library with my mom. Looking at the books was just as exciting to me as being at 'Toy's R Us' and looking at the shelves full of toys.

How important is a book cover?
I think a book cover can tell a lot about the story. Let's face it, if there's a hot couple making out on the front, you pretty much know what you're going to get. The cover is important, because it is an author's first connection with the reader, and you either make it, or you don't.

Do you have current work in progress?
Absolutely! Book two has been released, "MY LAST DANCE?" It is now selling on Amazon at: http://www.amazon.com/Carrie-Atkins/e/B00D7Fl2UA
