***AUTHOR INTERVIEW***
What inspires you to write?
When I wrote the seed, I was on a trip helping a friend move back home from Tennessee to Texas, after going through a divorce. I began to think about all the hard lessons I had to go through, to get where I was in life. That's when God gave me 'The Seed.' Sitting in a gas station, midway home, I began to write. But, it was weird. He gave it to me, back-to-front. I could see the ending, and had to find my way to the beginning.
How important is a book cover?
As important as the dress my wife was wearing, the first time I saw her. It is the outside 'thing' that gets peoples attention, to get to know what's on the inside.
Did you enjoy reading as a child?
I loved autobiographies of our Presidents, and other U.S. historical figures. Jefferson, Lincoln, Washington, etc. I checked out a book on Jefferson twelve times in the second grade.
Is writing a passion, stress-reliever, or both?
Definitely NOT a stress-reliever. I believe that words are important, and the RIGHT words are imperative if you are going to convey the message you want. This causes me to stare at a sentence, sometimes for what seems like an hour. I write more to get the thoughts and questions out of my head that are in there, so I can sleep.
Do you have current work in progress?
Yes. Several.
