~~~AUTHOR INTERVIEW~~~
Geri: What inspires you the most to write?
Ziana: I don't know if I'm inspired as much as I am driven. It's more of a need to put on paper, the
scenes that unfold inside my head. I try to capture the essence of the world in which my characters
live, the whole experience. It seems at times that I live in a world, where there is this huge, endless
vault that's filled with characters that need to have their stories told. So, I pluck a few out, and let
them take over from there. I know that sounds insane, but that's how it feels to me. So, I guess the
shorter answer would be, my characters inspire me to write.
Geri: Did you have favorite books as a child?
Ziana: Actually, no. I started making up my own stories as a child, and that's what I spent my time
doing. Either that, or painting portraits and landscapes, which in retrospect, were pretty
awful. lol.
Geri: Do you have current work in progress?
Ziana: I'm always working on two, or three projects at one time. I was working on IT'S A QUIET
THING, with scriptwriter Anthony Bodden, off-and-on, the whole time that I was working
on VALANTINUS. "IT'S A QUIET THING" is a true crime story that is, believe it or not,
an inspirational story. I also began working on a motivational book with LIFE STRATEGIST,
OCTAVE ELLIS, but I found that one extra project too much, so I had to temporarily put
that one on hold for a while bit to finish IT'S A QUIET THING and then get back to work
with OCTAVE. I figure that by the time I finish IT'S A QUIET THING and am halfway
through the other motivational one, I'll probably also start working on MAYA, the prequel to
"VALANTINUS." What I do is work for a few days on one, then switch over to let the plot
and characters simmer on the back burner, and work on a different one in the meantime. It's
nuts, but it works for me.
Geri: Who is your favorite author?
Zianna: I don't really have a favorite. I like reading everything, including romance, mysteries and
crime dramas. I also enjoy biographies like Casanova's life story, European Nobility,
historical and academic material, even about Quantum Physics. It's tough to pick
favorites, when there are so many amazing writers out there.
Geri: If you were to write in a different genre, what would it be?
Zianna: I do write in a few different genres. I've written romances, both contemporary, and
historical. I've written comedy, vampire, crime drama, and I'm even trying my hand at
scriptwriting. I love it all!
Geri: Thank you kindly for your time. Welcome aboard, it's delightful to work with you,and you
are indeed among many talented authors. I wish you much success!
Zianna: You're welcome.
