~~~AUTHOR INTERVIEW~~~
Geri:     What inspires you the most to write?
Raymond:        I get up early in the morning, and the ideas are just there. I've often
                            sensed that someone is standing behind me, looking over my
                            shoulder as I write. When I first started writing, someone would tell me
                            what to write. I would argue that it's not what I want to write, and then
                            ultimately, I would see the wisdom of their suggestions, and write what
                            I was told to write. Now, I just listen and write.
Geri:                   Who is your favorite author?
Raymond:        I can't pin this down to one answer. It's sort of like asking, which
                            President is your favorite. One runs the risk of offending someone.
                            So, I've always liked Hemingway. I learned to write from him. D.H.
                            Lawrence, John Passos, and many of our present day authors. They
                            all have something to say, and possess a unique way of saying it.
Geri:                   If you were to write in a different genre, what would it be?
Raymond:       Poetry, as I've written quite a bit of it, often serving as a catharsis,
                           after a love affair gone southwest. Also, a satire with animals, like
                           Animal Farm. Science fiction too, has always intrigued me, but I find
                           it has its limitations.
Geri:                 Did you enjoy reading as a child?
Raymond:      Immensely! My father and mother read voraciously. When I was a
                          teenager, my mother enrolled me in something like the Book Of The
                          Month Club, only for young adults and each month I would get this
                          fantastic biography, like one on Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain
                          Boys. Things like that fired my imagination as did stamp collecting,
                          because sometimes a new stamp would come out on a book that
                          I just read.
Geri:              Do you have current work in progress?
Raymond:    Currently, I am working on a self-help book to aid veterans, seeking
                        benefits from the Department Of Veterans Affairs(VA). Also, I have a
                        sequel in progress for "A THIRST FOR WAR." The title is called, "IN
                        THE HANDS OF THE WOLF." When I was a social worker in Ohio
                        prison some forty years ago, I wrote a prison novel. Recently, I dug
                        out my old 5" floppy disks, got them converted to CD-ROM, and started
                        making an outline. This is something I didn't do before. Now, I'm
                        rewriting the book. I'm outlining several more books: a thriller on
                        Chartres Cathedral; a VA critique; fiction:  the  Monet Merchants, about
                        people working for the VA;  a book on my ex-wife's idiot family; a book
                        called FINDING LOVE AGAIN, about how my wife and I met. Also, running
                        around in the back of my mind is a satire on our society, something
                        like Animal Farm.
Geri:              Thank you kindly for your time. I wish you much success.
Raymond:    You're welcome.
~~~AUTHOR INTERVIEW~~~

Geri:     What inspires you to write?

Deanie:     I'd like to become a role model for children, so they know that anything is possible if
                  you persevere. I don't think this message is emphasized in today's world, so many
                  children may not reach their dreams, because they are not encouraged to do so.

Geri:         Who is your favorite author?

Deanie:      I love reading books by former 'First Lady' Barbara Bush. She writes with wisdom,
                   and humor.

Geri:         If you were to write in a different genre, what would it be?

Deanie:      I am most comfortable writing for children, but maybe I'd also like to write something
                   to inspire young adults.

Geri:         Did you enjoy reading as a child?

Deanie:     Yes, I loved amusing stories, and tales with happy endings. I think reading can take
                  you on a lot of adventures you wouldn't otherwise experience, so you can explore all
                  kinds of new areas.

Geri:        Do you have current work in progress?

Deanie:     Yes, my next book "CHARLENE THE STAR" is nearly completed. My sister, Holly
                  Humphrys-Bajaj, illustrates my books, and she's just finishing the last picture for it.

Geri:        Thank you very much for your time. I wish you much success in your writing journey.

Deanie:     You're welcome.

~~~AUTHOR INTERVIEW~~~
Geri:     What inspires you the most to write?
Domonique:     My life experiences that I feel could be made into a story. Children also inspire
                         me to write, as well as reading other stories.
Geri:           When did you first realize that you wanted to be a writer?
Domonique:      I was writing poems starting back in 2008. I was in my last year at the University
                          of Michigan Art & Design school. I was working on a script for my movie 'Short'
                          as my final senior project. I was doing a lot of research on writing for the screen.
                          I had a lot of stories, but never really thought about writing them down. So, I really
                          began writing when I was also writing my movie 'Short' script. I landed my first
                          children's book illustration gig with the author of the book "LJ and the
                          Dreammaker, six months after I graduated, and I worked with the author for
                          about a year. I really enjoyed illustrating for children's books, and realized in
                          November of 2009 that I had a childhood story to share, and I began to write it.
                          I finished the manuscript in December and put it away for a few months, then
                          I contacted a self-publishing company to publish it. Once my book was released,
                          I realized that I love to write for children, so I began to write more and decided
                          to turn it into a series. I will continue to work on this project.
Geri:                  Who is your favorite author?
Domonique:        One of my favorite children's book authors is Barbara Park of the 'Junie B.
                            Jones book series.'
Geri:                  If you were to write in a different genre, what would it be?
Domonique:       Comic book series, a teen autobiography, a science fiction fantasy. I have already
                            started to write for the screen, but just need to continue. I sort of put it on the
                            back burner for the moment.
Geri:                   Do you have current work in progress?
Domonique:        I have started working on the manuscripts for my second and third books
                            called Pooky, 'In October and Pooky.' I am thankful for my 'Pooky book
                            series.'
Geri:               Thank you for your time. I wish you much success in your writing goals.
Domonique:    You're welcome.
